It's strange to think of the possibility of being on the other side of the camera. I'm not sure I could do it with a straight face. For example...

I can imagine handing a dish to Top Chef and Restauranter John Torode and Ingredients Expert Greg Wallace (TCRJT and IEGW for short) and saying something like "I hope you enjoy this excellent PLATE OF FOOD".

If they ask me what I think of the competition I'll say "Cooking doesn't get any tougher than this!"

If I make it through the "invention test" and into the next part where they cook for a "busy lunchtime service" at a restaurant "in the heart of London's busy West End", I'll say "for now I can relax, but I am looking forward to tomorrow's two more daunting tests!".

In all, I think I'd probably get kicked out for making a caricature of their carefully formulated television program :)

Thanks for playing along!

Y'know, I just cannot watch Masterchef as I spend the whole time shouting at the contestants and shouting at the presenters and gah. I shout myself out.

Are you kidding me? Programming, is what I do EVERY day. Cooking is what I want to do EVERY day. Java, please, perl, I'll give one to my lady, the truth is, you know as well as I do, nothing compares to good eats!

Keep up the excellent work here. Thanks!

Congrats on getting the diploma, Antonia, glad to meet someone who has done it! I am doing it just as an interest, so I feel like a bit of an outsider because most people who do it are involved in the trade in some way. I'm sure I'll enjoy doing it too even though it will undoubtedly involve a lot of hard work. Every now and then, I comment on the wine that we've had with dinner and add the post to the "wine" category, but don't do it as often as I should.

Hehe I know what that is because I made it; it's a tortilla which contained tomatoes in addition to the usual egg and potatoes. I cut it into three and had a slice for breakfast three days running. Yummy.

I love those flour shakers!
And Stephen - best of luck with the diploma. I work in the trade and completed mine a couple of years ago. I really enjoyed it, although it is hard work!
Thank you for the tag - I have done this one actually (with two bonus facts, as it happens!). Here it is...

If I have a moment soon though, I'll come up with a few more facts..!
