I think calling these burgers is a bit of a fib really, since they are very loose in texture. The beans are lovely though and work very well without any grilling, packed into tortillas.

I was very impressed with myself, Caramella and it’s definitely given me the confidence to try other breads. I think the honey is used specifically in hamburger buns because the slightly sweeter bread works well with the meat. It could be something technical to do with the yeast too but you would know more about that than me!

The hamburger buns look fabulous, light and fluffy and I’m sure they tasted accordingly too. I’d no idea that honey is used, I bet the shop bought ones don’t have any of the good stuff you put in your recipe.
