Part one of our Christmas-Present-Experiment. These didn’t turn out too badly for a first attempt but I think I over-cooked them, I’ll reduce the cooking time to 10-12 minutes next time. We used this recipe which was very easy to follow but I had some trouble “mixing into a smooth paste”.
Hi Kerri!
They look lovely! I hope they tasted as good too. Beating butter and sugar is a tedious job and takes a long time, even with an electric whisk. Also, try sifting the flour, that might make it easier to make the smooth dough.
Thanks Caramella, I’ll remember that next time.
ooh, I made foodie Christmas presents last year and very well received they were too! I think you will be happy you did it. They are adorable little stars. You could make some with bigger holes at the top and hang them on the tree – God I’m coming over all ‘Homes and Gardens’! I don’t even bother with a Christmas tree!
Cute! Very festive… I can’t wait until Christmas!
I love seeing everyone starting to get into a festive mood!
Thanks everyone, I think these need a little more work but hopefull they’re not too far away from being good enough to give to people as gifts.
I love the idea of foodie gifts for Christmas. As you know, I have a passion for stars so these are right up my street. I’d love to receive them!
If I happen to see you before Christmas Antonia then I’ll bring you a bag!
