Lettuce

Stephen and I have a small courtyard garden, we haven’t had any outside space at all before so this is quite exciting for us. As we like to cook, it made sense to plant some vegetables and herbs.

We’ve got a small trough with thyme, sage and rosemary; some pots with mint and lavender and a trough of mixed lettuce. This is our first lettuce shoot!

We also have some radishes, cress and broad beans to go out and later in the year we intend to do rocket, basil, runner beans and tomatoes.

Well done! After seven years in various student and rented flats in Edinburgh, I’m now living back home in Estonia with my bf, who happens to have a huge potential garden (read: 2000 m2 of wild grassland around the house that needs serious amounts of money and hard work before it will resemble what is conventionally known as garden).
Maybe somewhat naively, I’m hoping that there will be a possibility to grow some of my own veg and herbs out there, so I’ve planted various herbs and vegetables into small pots n boxes that I’ll hopefully move outside soon. It’s quite exciting to check the boxes for any new shoots and seedlings 🙂

It is exciting isn’t it, I find myself peering out the window at every opportunity to check on their progress! I can’t wait to harvest the first crop 🙂
