Mmmmmm cheeeeeese…
On Friday night we decided to have something easy to prepare for dinner. We had various nibbly bits and then had a selection of four cheeses, each individually selected from Neal’s Yard Dairy. Clockwise, from the bottom round… Coolea (full in the mouth, slightly nutty aftertaste, very good indeed), Keen’s Cheddar (very sharp; I think […]

During the week Kerri ordered a lovely red pie dish. We had planned to make pie during the week, but some semi-unplanned midweek partying laid waste to those plans. So we tried it last night and were struck with some of the karma of having put it off during the week. Steak and Ale pie […]

I was really lucky again this evening – arriving home to the smell of something delicious cooking. Kerri had made lamb koftas, fried halloumi and aubergine. I put this all into a toasted pita bread along with some lettuce and tomato to make a sandwich. It was really tasty and just what I needed. The […]

We had four leeks to use up and, having discussed various things to do with them, decided on a sort-of gratin. It contained leeks, lardons, potatoes, cheese, creme fraiche, milk, nutmeg and salt and pepper. It was really good, we had it with winter greens and I think we’ll have it again very soon.
